Nurses sue Douglas Kennedy for maternity ward scuffle. As previously reported on The Inquisitr , the RFK son Douglas Kennedy was previously acquitted on all charges of child endangerment and harassment during a January scuffle in a New York City maternity ward. The two nurses are now suing Douglas Kennedy personally, seeking more than $100,000 in damages, alleging he attacked them when Kennedy tried to take his newborn baby outside against hospital policy.

According to NBC , the two nurses who are suing Douglas Kennedy are named Anna Margaret Lane and Cari Luciano. After the judge acquitted Kennedy they decided to file the suit seeking unspecified damages for physical and emotional distress.

The two nurses accuse Kennedy of kicking one and knocking her to the ground while twisting the arm of the other as the nurses tried to stop him from leaving the maternity ward.

The January 7 maternity ward scuffle was captured on hospital surveillance cameras so the jury has plenty of evidence to consider. Douglas Kennedy apparently decided to take the newborn out of a bassinet and go outside the hospital for some fresh air, ignoring anyone who decided to stop him.

Unfortunately, the video is also time-lagged and there are noticeable gaps in the action so it is difficult to tell what exactly is going on. But as you can see in the video one of the nurses was in fact knocked down.

During the acquittal Kennedy’s defense claimed that Kennedy’s kick was spontaneous as he tried to protect his newborn from the nurses. Further, the judge said he was not passing judgment on the actions of the nurses and that “the court is not determining whether the defendant’s behavior was wise or prudent.”

As the nurses sue Douglas Kennedy do you think they are justified in their lawsuit or that the nurses are merely making a grab for money from a famous figure?
