Miami Dolphin players and staff recently joined the 21st century when they were each presented with individual iPad’s meant for official team use as they prepare for the upcoming season .
The players were presented with their new gadgets as the team hopes to move away from having to lug around the playbook that they’re each responsible for throughout the season. Now, rather than having to continually print new team installs and waste the paper required for those new additions, players can simply electronically download the new installs making the process instantaneous.
“It’s convenient,” Wide Receiver Davone Bess told the Sun Sentinel .
“Every day we were getting stacks and stacks of papers with the installs. Now they can just download them on the iPad and it’s there — Bam!”
However, this new luxury comes with a few stipulations.
According to team policy, players are forbidden to use their new iPad’s for any purpose that is unsuitable to the team and any violation of the terms will merit a $10,000 fine for the player that abuses their new Apple branded tablet. Those uses include but are not limited to YouTube, Twitter, and anything that might involve subject matter explicit in nature.
There aren’t too many players that choose to go against the grain on the Miami Dolphins roster, however one new addition may prove to be a challenge in the area of social media as the Fins have recently acquired WR Chad Ochocinco who entertains a mild 3.5 million followers.
