It comes as no surprise that Melania Trump thinks quite highly of her son, Barron, and often comes to his defense. Though very little is known about Barron’s life as a teenager – thanks to his mother’s protective nature – the first lady publicly complimented her son for being a mastermind behind his father Donald Trump’s campaign decisions.
Appearing as a guest on Fox News’ talk show ‘The Five‘, the FLOTUS jumped from one topic to another, discussing everything from President Trump’s dance moves to her upcoming documentary film, ‘Melania’. However, a question from one of the hosts about her son being in college caught the attention of the viewers.

The first lady could not help but talk about the incredible transformation that Barron has undergone. She called his experience “very different” because he is currently 19 and will turn 20 years old on March 20, 2026. She excitedly added that he is aware of the events occurring around the world and even discusses them with his dad and her.
She could not contain her pride while talking about Barron and described him as the “smart mind” behind the POTUS’ campaign. “He was very involved in the campaign. He gave him all of the ideas who he needs to talk to, all of these YouTubers…and, you know, podcasts…so he was really a smart mind behind it,” Melania said.
The details of Barron Trump‘s transformation spread online like wildfire, catching the attention of netizens.

Melania is not the only parent gushing over the 19-year-old’s talent. During the second inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump, he introduced the crowd to his youngest son, Barron. “He knew the youth vote,” the president said, referring to his son.
“He said, ‘Dad, you got to go out. Do Joe Rogan. Do all these guys,’ and we did. He understood the market,” the POTUS added.
In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump praised his son, claiming that he has an “unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
A political insider told PEOPLE that Barron Trump has a “button-down collar mentality” when he is out in public and focuses mainly on his studies. The anonymous insider claimed that once he steps out into the real world, he will take it by storm, as his parents have a big influence over him.
