A MAGA couple from Rhode Island was left utterly dejected after receiving a defective Trump-branded watch that cost them $640.

Tim Petit wanted to gift his wife, Melanie, something special: a silver-and-pink watch with President Donald Trump‘s branding on it. He found the limited-edition pink ‘Inauguration First Lady’ watch on a website called ‘GetTrumpWatches.com’ after hearing a radio ad featuring Trump’s voice, which piqued his curiosity, WJAR NBC 10 reported.

“I just thought it was really nice. It was beautiful. And I knew it would be something that she’d like,” Petit told the news outlet.

The $640 watch was reportedly one of the only 250 watches made by the company. It featured a pink dial with Trump’s signature and fireworks on it.

However, when the watch arrived, Melanie Petit was left in tears.

The reason? One crucial spelling error that changed everything: the signature on the watch read ‘RUMP’ instead of “TRUMP.”

Speaking to NBC 10 News, a disappointed Melanie said, “I noticed it right away. How could they process this and go through something without checking their work?”

“I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through,” Tim told the outlet.

The couple revealed that they did not receive any satisfactory response from the company when they reached out to them regarding the defect.

However, they then contacted NBC 10 News, which in turn contacted the company. “We would like this corrected properly and quickly,” Tim said. “An apology would be nice for making my wife cry.”

Within hours, “GetTrumpWatches.com” reached out to Tim and Melanie and apologized for the mishap. The company also offered to replace the defective watch and gave them an $800 coupon.

While the website markets its products as the official watches of President Trump, the site’s fine print states that the company is only licensed to use Trump’s name and likeness.

Although the website uses President Trump’s voice and image in its promotional materials, it states that it is not officially connected to the Trump administration.

According to the disclaimer on the site, the company is using Trump’s name and likeness through a paid licensing agreement with CIC Digital LLC. The fine print reportedly explains that “the watches are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals.”

Petit told NBC 10 News that someone in the licensing department should be made aware of the issue, adding that a major mistake appeared to have been made.

The website also outlines its return policy, noting that all purchases are considered final sales.

Meanwhile, the Trump Organization filed a lawsuit last year against several sellers on e-commerce websites such as Amazon, eBay, and Walmart for selling counterfeit Trump merchandise.
