Los Angeles police are investigating the deaths of three men who were found with apparent gunshot wounds inside a Hollywood apartment. The LA Police Department deputies responded to a welfare check at 11:30 pm on Tuesday, July 28.

According to the LAPD, officers arrived at the 1900 block of Wilcox Avenue near Cahuenga Boulevard and discovered three adult male bodies, all of whom had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The department has not publicly released the victims’ identities, ages, or other identifying information.

Television footage from the scene showed emergency personnel removing multiple bodies from the apartment building as investigators processed the crime scene.

Some residents told local media they recalled hearing what sounded like a gunshot over the weekend but did not report it to police at the time. Investigators have not confirmed whether that sound was connected to the deaths.

This is an ongoing investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information about the case to contact the LAPD. 

A neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous told ABC 7, “Horrific, horrific, sad. It’s scary. I literally got goose bumps the second I found out. My neighbor, she was like, ‘Help! Help! I live here.’ And then I run downstairs, and I’m like, ‘What happened?’ She’s like, ‘Triple homicide.’ And I’m like, ‘Alright, so this is how I’m starting my morning.’ Very sad, very sad.”

Another elderly woman who lives in the same complex said, “I know two, but there were a lot of people coming and going all the time. She would let homeless people shower and stuff.” The neighbors also mentioned that a woman lived in that particular apartment unit with her dog, though several residents said they were not aware of the three men found inside.

Detectives are also trying to connect the dots and find a link between the woman, who has not been seen recently, and the men. Another man who lives in the same unit noted he had seen police called to the apartment in the last year. But he did not know the reason behind it.

 

The mystery in the case has sparked various speculations and theories on social media. One X user wrote, “This was a mob hit.” Another posted, “Man, Los Angeles is definitely in a dark place these days.”

The triple homicide has left neighbors shaken, although the Los Angeles Police Department said investigators believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
