I don’t normally post much about all the PR emails I get from companies but this one is different and so important in this day and age of increasing personal data creation that I felt compelled to share what could be a breakthrough service.
So without further ado here is the email that I got this morning about LiveDrive and I’ll let you decide the importance for yourself.
Hi
I’m Andrew Michael, founder and CEO of Livedrive – an online backup and storage company based in London/Philadelphia
We’ve today announced a ground-breaking new way of archiving digital data: printing it out onto paper (using high density QT barcodes)!
No other provider of online storage or backup does this – we believe it’s an industry first and that we are the only company offering online storage stored in this way.
We’ve made a video showing our paper facility below:

And here is our press release:

I hope this if of some interest to you – please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.. I’ve included some basic information about Livedrive below:
Livedrive is creating technology that will revolutionise the way people store and access their files, photos, music, videos and other digital content. Our vision is simple: don’t store files on your PC, store them on your Livedrive instead. Livedrive is your personal storage space on the Internet. It’s unlimited, it’s secure and it’s there forever.
Livedrive was first launched in December 2008, and has grown exponentially since then, becoming one of the world’s leading online storage companies. We now have over 500,000 paying customers around the world, and have won awards such as the Computer Active Best Online Backup Buy It award, and the Web User Gold Award.
Livedrive have significant partnerships around the globe with some of the world’s leading retailers. We provide online backup services to PC World, Currys and Dixons in the UK – which are sold under their Tech Guys brand – and to CompUSA and TigerDirect in the USA. Our retail partnerships are bringing simple yet powerful cloud storage and online backup to the mass market in the way that no-one else has done before. Livedrive also provide a popular reseller package for web designers, system integrators and entrepreneurs..
The Livedrive management team is made up of respected industry experts and investors, who have lent their significant experience and financial strength to ensuring that Livedrive is both well-managed and well-funded. The company was founded by Andrew Michael, who previously built and sold (for over $100m) Fasthosts Internet, the UK’s leading web hosting company.
Kind regards,
Andrew Michael
So what do you think?
The next big thing or what?
