A woman identified as Anna Gilbert was arrested during a DUI stop. She had repeatedly refused officers’ orders to get out of her car, according to viral bodycam footage. The incident was reviewed on the YouTube channel Crime Scrutiny. It showed officers stopping Gilbert, who claimed she was going to her boyfriend’s house. The DUI stop began after officers suspected she was driving under the influence.
Police asked Gilbert to step out of her car to check on her. She refused, claiming she was not allowed to because her father was a lawyer and she knew her rights. When officers questioned Gilbert’s logic for refusing to get out, she said her father had told her not to step out during routine DUI stops. She kept arguing despite the officer telling her she would be free to go once she proved she was not drunk.
The officer then made his position clear. “Even as a lawyer, he would tell you if you’re ordered out of a vehicle, you have to comply,” the officer said in the footage. Meanwhile, Gilbert was seen speaking gibberish as she looked dazed, refusing to leave the vehicle. She later told officers she feared her father would “kill” her if she complied with the requests.
However, officers repeatedly tried to calm her and explain the legal process. They asked follow-up questions about her statements. “He did not tell you that you have to come out when you are told to?” the officer asked. She then dismissed her own father, saying, “I mean, he is a piece of s–t.”
The officer, who seemed annoyed by the back-and-forth conversation, asked her to come out one final time before dragging her out of the car. He said her father was giving her “bad information” about the legal rules. Anna Gilbert was then asked to walk in a straight line as she struggled to stand upright. The host reviewing the footage was shocked by her conduct and pointed out how drunk she looked.
“You can see how drunk she is just by the way she looks. She’s got a glossed-over deer in the headlights look,” the host said. He claimed that although he could not see Gilbert’s eyes closely, he was sure they were bloodshot red. He also noted an odor of unidentified liquor coming from her car.

Once outside, officers began running standard field sobriety tests. During the interaction, Gilbert appeared emotional. At one point, she collapsed onto the ground, crying while mentioning PTSD and anxiety. Officers heard her statements but explained that the stop still needed to continue.
“I would suggest you seek counseling for that, but during a DUI stop isn’t the time to deal with it,” one officer said. She began grasping for breath as she looked toward the ground and struggled to act right.
Later, Gilbert partly participated in the sobriety tests but refused to complete all the tests. Officers then arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence and resisting an officer without violence.“You didn’t cooperate, so that’s where we’re at,” an officer told her during the arrest. She apologized for wasting his time as her loud sobs continued.
According to court records referenced in the clip, Gilbert was initially charged with DUI and resisting an officer. The case was later resolved through a plea agreement, and the DUI charge was dropped as part of that deal. The court withheld judgment on charges of reckless driving and resisting an officer without violence. Gilbert was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of nearly $1,250.
