The Green Bay Packers have secured the services of tight end Jermichael Finley for two-years under a $15 million deal that will keep Finley in Wisconsin.
While Green Bay has not confirmed the report Finley took care of that confirmation on his own on Wednesday night when he tweeted:
“It’s TRUE! Thank you so much to the Packers organization, all my fans, and my beautiful wife.”
While Jermichael Finley was ready to become a free agent the Green Bay Packers were considering the franchise tag which would have kept Finley in Green Bay had an agreement not been reached by his contract deadline.
The 24-year-old tight end was injured in 2010 but played all 16 games last season while amassing 55 passes for 767 yards with eight touchdowns.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and 247-pounds Finley is considered a major asset for the team because he can move like a wide receiver while fitting well into the tight end position.
During his first three years Finley played in 32 regular-season games but missed most of the 2010 Super Bowl championship season after suffering a knee injury.
