Last week, Rick Perry practically ended his bid for the presidency when he stumbled, badly, during a GOP debate. But Perry isn’t the only GOP presidential hopeful who has had a hard time finding his words. Herman Cain had an “oops” moment of his own during an interview with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel editorial board on Monday.
When asked if he agreed with President Obama on Libya, Cain said “Okay, Libya…” After a long pause, the Cain train gathered steam and continued:
“President Obama supported the uprising, correct? President Obama called for the removal of Gaddafi… Just wanted to make sure we’re talking about the same thing before I say, ‘Yes, I agreed. No, I didn’t agree.’”
Cain continues to answer the question in generalities for a few minutes, and utters a much more wordy version of Rick Perry’s “Oops,” by saying:
“I got all this stuff twirling around in my head.”

Herman Cain’s “oops” moment was on a much smaller scale than Rick Perry’s, and according to Cain spokesman JD Gordon, the moment was taken out of context. Gordon said:
“He was taking questions for about 30 to 40 minutes on four hours of sleep. He didn’t say anything wrong or in accurate; it just took him a while to recall the specifics of Libya… It just took him a while to gain his bearings.”

Even if Cain had forgotten that Libya was a country, it probably wasn’t as bad as Rick Perry’s “oops” moment during the GOP debate last week.
