The two victims of the Grand Canyon plane crash have been publicly identified.
After police located the burned wreckage of the single-engine Cirrus SR20 registered to Delaware-based Anansi Aeronautics LLC Saturday, they confirmed ID for the two people in the plane had been found in or around the wreckage. Police also confirmed that the wife of one of the men on the doomed plane had received a text message confirming the plane was set to land at around 9PM in Henderson, Nevada- the last known contact from the craft.
The victims of the Grand Canyon plane crash were identified as 32-year-old Jacobe Foster of Sonoma, and 39-year-old Andrew Weiner of Henderson, Nevada. For Foster, a memorial Facebook page indicating he’d originally hailed from Seattle was set up following the crash and titled “In Loving Memory of Jacobe D. Foster, The Superhero (1979-2011).”
Friends say that Foster, who is a licensed pilot, leaves behind a wife and daughters. On the Facebook page memorializing him, the description reads:
This page is dedicated in loving memory of Jacobe D. Foster, The SuperHero (1979-2011) who officially has his wings in heaven now.
