The University of Central Florida Police Department responded to a domestic violence report involving a young couple. The girlfriend discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her, and they got into an altercation. The incident happened on July 25, 2021.
The man was violent with his girlfriend; however, he constantly denied that. He told the police officer, “I told her to leave. She wouldn’t. I’m not going to put my hands on her.” He added, “My room’s destroyed, smashing things, throwing my bed apart. I was just like, obviously, I cheated on my girlfriend like this, but I’m not, I’m not going to put my hands on her”
The officer also asked him about d– use as his pupils were larger than normal. “I smoke every single day. Probably like last night at midnight. I smoked m–na.” He further explained that he gets them legally with cartridges, “I have my medicinal card. I go to the dispensaries. I have a physician.”
He was also a convicted felon and out on bail. He wanted his girlfriend to leave the apartment and didn’t want to press charges. After a lot of back and forth, the officer said, “Brandon. All right. Brandon, do me a favor, man. Turn around. You’re under arrest for battery.”
He tried to run while the officers were arresting him. They ran after him and threatened to tase him if he did not stop running. The officers were able to get a hold of him and get him in handcuffs. He kept on questioning the officers as to why he was being arrested.
They told him he was arrested for battery, but he denied ever hitting his girlfriend. He further added that his girlfriend hit him, so she should go to prison. The bodycam video ended with the girlfriend crying and asking the officers if she could say bye to her boyfriend. She said, “Please. I won’t be violent, please. Because I love him no matter what. Can I Please?”
The couple was taken to the Orange County jail. The man was charged with battery, two counts of resisting an officer without violence, and bribery. However, bribery comments were not captured on bodycam and may have happened in custody.
Many viewers called out the couple as they were too young and immature. One viewer commented, “Sc–d up kids these days. Also, leave the cat alone!” The second one posted, “This generation is cooked, they have zero emotional control, think their feelings matter, and are unhinged.” One viewer joked, “This kid is too young to be constantly smoking. His brains are just like the old commercial when they cook the egg.”
