Florida police received a welfare check call from a fast food employee when she spotted a woman exhibiting erratic behavior in the driveway. The police officers reached the location to investigate the situation. They spotted the woman walking erratically and talking loudly.
The Florida officer said, “You’re acting really weird,” and asked if she had taken something. She denied it and said she was just feeding her baby. Moreover, she was not answering the officer’s questions clearly and kept talking about her dad working nearby. The officer asked her age, to which she replied she’s 37. He told her to stop talking about her dad since he’s an adult.
They put her through several sobriety field tests to confirm if this was a case of DUI. The tests confirmed she was under d– influence and officers placed her under arrest. Meanwhile, the police called the dad to give him the child. When he reached there, he wasn’t at all surprised by her. She pleaded with her dad to bail her out of jail on the phone. He said, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what I can do. I don’t know where the money’s going to come from.” She told him she had the money.
The bodycam video further shows one of the Florida police officer saying, “He just seemed he just sounded like disappointed, but he didn’t sound like mad like this wasn’t the first time.”
The investigation confirmed she had two banned substances, fentanyl and crack, with her. She was operating the vehicle under the influence of illegal substances. The police also added that she had neglected to take care of her child properly. She also did not have a driver’s license to operate the vehicle. Driving under the influence was a major threat to her child, as she could have been hurt in the case of an accident.
The bodycam video was posted on the YouTube channel Police Chase Network. Such videos serve as a warning to avoid driving under the influence and follow the enforcement officer’s instructions in case they ask you to pull over for investigation. With over five thousand views, several netizens praised the police officers for taking care of the baby.
One viewer commented, “For real. You’re 37 with a child; at least keep it together in public. And your parents are kind enough to keep you both housed. I quit that stuff before I reached 21, no kids. I hope this wakes her up, but it rarely does.” Another user pointed out different signs of d– use, “The continued body motions and pupils are super key indicators of her m– use. Tell Methany not to drive with her kids.”
