A Florida couple was arrested after their 7-week-old daughter died at home. The couple, identified as Robert Lee Ingram, 22, and Gracie Jai Tellez, 20, were charged with aggravated manslaughter and child neglect.
Their daughter died in October due to brain injuries that were suspected to be the result of shaken baby syndrome. Tellez called 911 on October 14, 2025, reporting her baby was pale, cold to the touch, and nonresponsive. The police arrived at their home in the 2200 block of Farragut Street.
They tried to administer CPR on the baby while they waited for the fire rescue responder. The baby was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital along with the mother. Despite being in intensive care, she did not make it. She was pronounced dead on October 18.

According to the arrest warrant, the baby did not have the right “supervision and services necessary to maintain the physical and mental health.” The documents further specified that the baby may have lacked things like “food, nutrition, clothing, shelter, supervision, medicine, and medical services that a prudent person would consider essential for the well-being of said child.”
The warrant revealed the baby died from blunt force injuries. Both parents told authorities conflicting stories. Tellez and Ingram told the officers they fed her a “5-oz bottle of formula and fell asleep at approximately 11 a.m.”
They left her in the bassinet to sleep and discovered she was cold after ten minutes. On the other hand, doctors confirmed the baby would not have been able to drink from the bottle as she was shaken violently. Her injuries were consistent with that.
Moreover, after a recent pediatrician visit, the 7-week-old was noted to be healthy. The doctor did not document any injuries or long-term health concerns. So the injuries would have occurred after that.
Later, an autopsy revealed she had skull fractures and hemorrhaging along the spine. The baby also suffered from retinal hemorrhaging and detachment along with a traumatic brain injury. Apart from shaking, the injuries are consistent with blunt force trauma.

The couple said they used the FaceTime app on their phones as a baby monitor to keep an eye on the baby. However, the detective found that to be a lie. Their phones were being used to play Call of Duty and YouTube late at night.
U.S. Marshals Service in Jacksonville press release confirmed the arrest of the couple on August 7 in relation to their infant daughter’s death. According to the press release, the two were found at their new residence in the 1300 block of Marsh Grass Court. They were taken to Duval County Jail to be booked for the charges. They were arrested without incident and did not resist.
