A cybercrime investigator, Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kyle Pavao, testified in court in the ongoing Lindsay Clancy trial. He revealed details about the searches found on a computer belonging to Patrick Clancy, Lindsay’s ex-husband.

Lindsay has been accused of premeditated murder of her three children and then attempting to kill herself. According to the investigators, some of the family computer searches include singer Tom T. Hall, details about his death, and how he died.

Then a page about self-harm was accessed from the computer, followed by a page on Grafton Bridge. These searches were made around 9:45 a.m. in August 2022. While the investigators used the Wayback Machine to see the webpages, they cannot confirm who was behind the computer making these searches.

Pavao stated, “I saw, but the first thing I saw was a Facebook visit at 9:40 that morning.” The account used was Lind.say969; then there was a search for singer Tom Hall. The Wikipedia page of the singer had a hyperlink to the manner of his death: “So, inside that phrasing, there’s actually a URL behind that with an anchor as well.”

According to the court testimony, someone accessed the suicidal methods page around 9:45 a.m. The prosecutor asked him, “You’re not able to tell who’s actually at the computer doing all this, correct?” he replied, “No.”

Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, asked Pavao, “Were there any searches on that computer, for example, ‘ways to kill?’” he replied no, and Reddington pointed out, “The search was not actually methods of suicide — it was from the Tom Hall link. You don’t know if it was Lindsay Clancy who used that computer to search for Tom Hall, right?”

Some of the searches that Clancy made on her iPhone were “can you treat a sociopath? Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Timothy Chiappini revealed this during his court testimony.

He also explained one of the several notes that Clancy had written around October 2022. In one note she wrote, “I’m terrified of something happening to my kids or doing something wrong to mess up their development. Our generation is inundated with information about every aspect of parenting and everything that can go wrong if you don’t get it right and all the scary things happening in the world. It’s insane. For the last five years, I’ve filled my mind with just all things parenting, and it’s unhealthy.”

She also wrote affirmations such as “I will get over this,” “I am strong,” and “I will overcome postpartum anxiety and depression” in the notes.

The courtroom video was posted on Law&Crime Trials on YouTube and has over 162K views. The trial has divided the nation, with several people supporting Lindsay and some even demanding a trial for her ex-husband. One viewer asked, “When are they going to investigate Patrick?”

The second one posted, “As someone who is into true crime and has a tendency to go down rabbit holes into medical issues and understanding psychology, I would hate for someone to see my search history.” One justified the search, “I would search how my favorite musician died; 80% of people would.” “She was at her daughter’s doctor’s appointment at the time of that search; who was home? pointed out another viewer.
