The IBTimes is reporting that 22-year-old Ekaterina Rybolovleva is buying former Citigroup chairman Sandy Weill’s Manhattan condominium for an astonishing $88 million – a record for the highest individual transaction in New York City history.
Rybolovleva is the daughter of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovleva, whose wealth roots back to the sale of his stake in Uralkali, a fertilizer business, for $6.5 billion in 2010, according to Forbes.
A statement released by Ekaterina’s representatives revealed that she is currently studying at a U.S. university and “plans to stay in the apartment when visiting New York.
“Ms. Rybolovleva was born in Russia, is a resident of Monaco and has resided in Monaco and Switzerland for the past 15 years,” the statement added.
So what exact did the young heiress get for $88 million?
According to Forbes, the 15 Central Park West apartment is a 6,744 sq foot beauty which boasts 10 rooms, including 4 bedrooms, seven walk-in closets, a wrap-around terrace and two wood-burning fireplaces.
