Donald Trump’s top political advisor, Steven Cheung, was endlessly trolled by netizens after his series of X posts praising the president’s work ethic. Cheung posted on X, “President Trump is working at 8:00 PM. Can’t stop, won’t stop.”

Another one of his X posts read, “It’s 4:00 PM on a Saturday, and President Trump has been working hard at the White House since early this morning. This man is focused and determined.”

Netizens were quick to mock Cheung and Trump. They went after Cheung for bragging about Trump’s dedication while also adding that erratic work hours are literally the job description for the president.

One X user commented, “You make it seem like he deserves an award for once working late on a Saturday. Who cares? That’s the job.” Another one mocked, “On a weekend? Trump doesn’t have the stamina or desire to work part-time, let alone on weekends. If it wasn’t raining where he had planned, he’d be golfing now.” This was in reference to Trump spending his days on the golf course, costing millions of dollars to the taxpayers. Trump has already spent 111 days on the golf course out of 491 days in office during his current term.

Daniel Goldman, NY Congressman, fired back, “How do you know how unusual it is for Donald Trump to work on a weekend? His comms person, Steven Cheung, feels compelled to document it publicly three separate times during the day.”

Another one took a jab, “I consistently work until 11 p.m., I guess I’m qualified to be president.” One more mocked the president since he has been captured with closed eyes in public, “And you notice, they never see Trump napping behind closed doors… he only naps in public. Wang Chung is just another trump fluffer.”

Another X user called out Trump for not attending his son’s wedding, “Not just working, working for free, and missing his son’s wedding. Pace your fake outrage.” One more agreed, “He really, really, really didn’t wanna go to Donnie Junior’s wedding, did he?”

Considering how Trump allegedly boosts his stock market portfolio, one user commented, “He’s busy taking orders from his stockbrokers on exactly what to say and when.” Another user added, “He started this chaos by attacking Iran unprovoked. He is not working hard, just cleaning his mess.”

Trump has been known for working at odd hours, even calling his administration members late at night. Earlier, Karoline Leavitt and JD Vance have pointed out that the president works at night and does not sleep much.

In addition, Susie Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff, revealed that the staff has to deal with Trump’s erratic sleep schedule. She added, “I go to sleep early, and Dan Scavino—who I’m sure many of you know is a night owl—we divide it. I get the early calls, and Dan gets the late calls. That’s the way we’ve navigated over a couple of years, making sure we all get enough sleep, even if the president doesn’t.”
