White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is no stranger to controversy, especially when it comes to defending Donald Trump and his administration. The 27-year-old New Hampshire native has built a reputation for her unapologetic tone and sharp media takedowns, and her latest appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures on June 8 was no exception.
Leavitt came on air to slam ABC News and its correspondent Terry Moran for a now-deleted tweet in which he described Donald Trump and deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller as a “world-class hater.” Her words were pointed and firm, “This is unacceptable and unhinged rhetoric,” she said, while leaning into Trump’s broader criticism of the mainstream press.

“The distrust” many MAGA supporters express toward the media, Leavitt argued, is fueled by moments like this. “All we’re asking for is truth and transparency,” she added. She confirmed that the White House had reached out to ABC about the matter. Moran has since been suspended, and the tweet has been removed.
But despite her policy-packed defense of the administration’s proposed “One Big, Beautiful Bill” on taxes and spending, it wasn’t her words that captured the most attention, it was her appearance. Of Course.
Social media users immediately zeroed in on Leavitt’s face during the interview, speculating she had undergone cosmetic work since taking on the press secretary role. A clip from the broadcast went viral, with one user zooming in and remarking, “Fillers are doing a bad job.”

Another comment read, “Why did @karolineleavitt get a Botox lip she was beautiful completely unnecessary that is a liberal left trend that needs to disappear.” To this another user replied, “She’s also had a nose job and some chin work. She’s not as confident as she pretends to be.”
Some took their critiques beyond her physical appearance, and went on to target her personal life choices. Leavitt, who married 60-year-old real estate developer Nicholas Ricchio in January 2025, has been frequently mocked online for the couple’s 32-year age gap. They met in 2022, got engaged during the 2023 holiday season, and welcomed their first child, Niko, in July 2024.
“This is the same woman who married her grandfather?” one user posted. Another added a more pointed jab, “She’s either on drugs or got botox/lip injections with all the blinking. probably to appease her 60 year old husband’s fetish for blonde bimbos.”
Leavitt has addressed the criticism before, notably during a February appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, where she defended her marriage. “I mean it’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,” she said. Honestly, she wouldn’t have to explain herself for her marriage decision. It is sad that people often blur the lines of how much right they have to speak about the personal life of a public figure.
Though her husband and son rarely appear on her social media, Leavitt of course is a high-profile figure Whether it’s a policy defense on national television or a swirl of online speculation, Karoline Leavitt continues to make headlines, for better or for buzz.
