A woman in Florida fatally shot a man in a Walmart parking lot. She shot him after an altercation over a parking space. She acted in self-defense, having warned the man to stop approaching her, but he continued to provoke her.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shooting and claimed it was self-defense. The sheriff released a statement, “The preliminary investigation revealed an adult female and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation over a parking space in the Walmart parking lot prior to the shooting. According to investigators, the shooter, the adult female, remained on scene, cooperated with detectives, and she told them the shooting was in self-defense.”

 

The incident was recorded on a dashcam and showed the woman was trying to get out of her vehicle when the man approached her. The man was identified as Bart Diguglielmo. The woman told him, “Walk away,” but he did not. She shot him, and he could be seen sitting and lying on the ground in the dashcam footage.

He was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. A witness made a 911 call to report the incident. Diguglielmo was a retired nurse who worked for 30 years. His sister expressed the situation as heartbreaking. She told CBS News that Bart’s identical twin had died two years prior. The investigation in the case is complete for now, and it will be presented to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. It remains unclear if the criminal charges will be filed against the woman.
