Judge Victoria I. Shackelford saw through the Michigan defendant, who appeared in court for probation. Imani Bates came into court to get a period of probation as she was consistent with her plea agreement. The statement explained an issue with the bill of over $1,000 that was unsettled between the defendant and the complainant.

The bill was for the care of the child that the two shared. The attorney stated, “My client is under the impression that the child that her significant other and the complainant have in common has insurance.”

There was also a mention of a physical altercation that went on between the two women who were involved with the father of the child. The judge asked if the man was even worth the fight. When the judge was reading the files out loud, the woman told her, “You can stop if you want.” The judge fired back, “No, here’s the thing. So, listen. No, I mean you were charged with an aggravated assault, right?”

She continued, “Fighting over a man who’s sleeping with both of you. That’s what it sounds like. That’s what it sounds like. So, you are embarrassing yourself, Ms. Bates, because now you’re in court and all these people know that you’re messing with this other woman, and this is the problem with women on women over a man.”

The judge did not hold back in showing the woman what was wrong with the situation. She explained to her that they are fighting over a man, and she got a plea reduction in the case, but it won’t end well for her if she doesn’t back off.

The judge was trying to understand their living situation as the woman explained that they were still dating the man. She asked her, “Why are you messing with him and this other woman and this baby?”

The woman told her she takes care of the baby on alternate weeks. That’s when she started yelling at the judge, and she requested, “No more words out of your mouth. I’m being reasonable with you.”

She declared the aggressive woman was not a good candidate for probation. She was sentenced to 10 days in prison for contempt of court. “We’ll bring her back out for sentencing and see if she wants another 93,” she announced further.

The courtroom video has almost 90K views on YouTube. Many viewers felt the woman was definitely at fault. One viewer commented, “She thinks she has week-on, week-off, 50% custody. No, Ma’am, your ex has custody of his kids – they’re not yours.”

One pointed out, “10 days in contempt was too nice. This woman needs a real lesson in prison; she is dangerous.” Another viewer agreed with the judge and blamed the man, “It’s amazing to me that the women a man is sneaking around always go after each other rather than him and leave him!!”

A comment reads, “Absolutely love that this judge did this. She knows this defendant is sitting there getting a plea and acting innocent. Didn’t take much for the judge to get to the truth about what kind of person she is.”

A user commented, “Judge hit a nerve.” Another added, “This is just what this country needs to handle these Loud mouth Disrespectful Queens! Judges like this!!!!” Lastly, a commenter wrote, “It’s a trashy, burdensome culture (to put it lightly), yet the people within it act like they require the utmost in respect, and that they are beyond amazing. Baffling. Baffling.”
