Three teenagers and one of the teens’ fathers rescued two dogs from a burning home in Utah. On August 17, 2025, several houses in West Jordan caught fire. Identified as 17-year-olds Carter Jacobson, Gabriel Hernandez, and Camerin Inselsberger, they saw smoke coming from nearby houses.

Without worrying about themselves, they rushed to the homes to help. They checked one of the burning houses and heard dogs barking. Before even the firefighters arrived, the teenagers went to a house along with their dad to rescue the pets from the house.

They tried to knock down the door at first, but could not succeed. That’s when Camerin’s dad stepped in and knocked down the door. The boy was worried about his dad as he exclaimed, “Dad, your shoulder,” but he kept going to save the dogs.

Soon, they entered the home, grabbed the two dogs quickly, and headed out. This was all captured in the doorbell camera and later shared on the internet. The boys later gave an interview to ABC4. Camerin said, “If it were my house on fire, I would want someone to at least check to see if somebody was inside.”

Carter added, “It did affect two families. I don’t want to see that happen to anyone else, because losing everything like that in a house fire- everything is just gone.” The pets’ family thanked the teens and was relieved. No injuries were reported despite the severe fire in the neighborhood.

The doorbell video has millions of views online, with netizens calling these men the true heroes. One concerned viewer commented, “‘Dad, your shoulder’ has me in tears! He cared about his neighbors, their pets, and his Dad all at the same time!” The second one praised them, “This is masculinity and community in action.” One dog parent had a suggestion: “We have a sticker on our door that shows the number of dogs inside. Those stickers are available at Lowe’s and Home Depot.”

A firefighter commented, “Dang. I’m a firefighter, and these boys made me tear up. Often, we don’t make it early enough. Heroes.” Another netizen added, “Amazing, the genuine concern in their faces as if it was their own house and their own pets.” “Every time I watch this video, I love somebody more. Respect the big man who ran up and was like, ‘ Whatever you need’ and walked off with a dog in 2 seconds,” posted one more.
