No lip-syncing here, Colin Powell has been caught during a commercial break singing the ever popular teeny-bopper hit “Call Me Maybe”.
Slightly out of tune and no where close to the melody, Powell was waiting on a commercial break during an interview with ‘CBS This Morning’ when he decided that it was a good idea to bust out in song.
“Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy,” Powell sings to CBS co-anchor Gayle King, shaking his shoulders side to side in a rather awkward dancing gesture. Finishing quickly, Powell, with stretched out arm holding his “number”, belts out “but here’s my number, so call me maybe.”
“It was a lock,” Powell says to co-host Charlie Rose, who looked understandably bemused after the rather odd rendition.
The pop hit “Call Me Maybe” has made a handful of YouTube sensations as fans have done anything and everything to make their video the next viral hit to make it into the millions of views.
Carly Rae Jepson’s hit was big in itself, but when the Harvard Baseball team took on the challenge with their choreographed dance moves in a 15-passenger van, they created a whole new breed of video’s being produced.
It was fair game after that as video’s of choreographed swimmers, over dubbed Barack Obama’s , and swim-suit wearing Miami Dolphins cheerleaders all wanted to put their own twist on the new trend.
Fortunately for us, the former Secretary of State stopped after just one chorus.
