A cold case review of the 2001 murder of intern Chandra Levy has come up trumps, with reports that the arrest of a suspect is imminent.
The 2001 murder of Chandra Levy made headlines after it was discovered by investigating officers that she had been having an affair with then U.S. Representative Gary Condit of California, a senior member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
The unnamed suspect is believed to be a 27-year-old Salvadoran immigrant who is currently serving jail time.
The arrest of a suspect could finally clear Condit. Although never named by police as a suspect, Gary Condit suffered at the hands of the court of public opinion, and ended up being voted out of office in 2002.
Conduit said in a statement: “For the Levy family, we are glad they are finally getting the answers they deserve. For my family, I am glad that their years of standing together in the face of such adversity have finally led to the truth.”

I had always hoped to have the opportunity to tell my side of this story, but too many were not prepared to listen.
