Nepal’s “Buddha Boy,” so named because it is claimed he can meditate for months without eating, pissing or moving, has fled back to the jungle.

Ram Bahadur Bomjam, 18, became famous in 2005 after supporters starting sharing tales of his meditation feats, and they claimed he was a reincarnation of Siddartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.

Things started going downhill for Bomjam in 2007 after supporters said then he was going to meditate for three years in an underground bunker, but he was then spotted on two occasions. According to AFP, for the last 10 days he has been blessing thousands of devotees who came daily to the site in dense jungle.

The president of the Nepal Buddhist Council said claims by his supporters were not credible.
