Allen Iverson may be having a hard time trying to convince NBA teams to pick him up, but the former NBA star may be getting a gig after all. The catch being, the “gig” in question is a spot on the Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

In a press release issued by the Lancers over the weekend, the team says it is offering Iverson $20,000 per game, with a $5,000 bonus for every goal he’s able to score along with any merchandising bonuses.

“Allen Iverson is one of the premier athletes of our time,” said Rich Randall, Lancers vice president. “With his athleticism and competitive hunger, I think he can be a great fit with our team and fans as we make an important playoff push, while also driving interest to an exciting, growing sport.”

Iverson may be in a pretty rough financial bind at the moment, with recent reports saying that Iverson blew all $150 million of his career earnings , but it doesn’t appear that he’ll be taking the Lancers up on their offer. Instead, Iverson is reportedly considering playing professional basketball in Puerto Rico, among other things.

Should Iverson choose to accept the Lancers’ offer, the team have offered to host his friends and family throughout the duration of his stay. Free of charge, of course.
