After carrying Lauren Sánchez, Amanda Nguyen, Katy Perry, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, and Kerianna Flynn to space back in April, Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin is now back with its next space crew. The upcoming space mission, called NS-32, does not have a date of launch yet but it is known that the crew will be consisting of entrepreneurs, business figures, and space enthusiasts.

This trip will mark Blue Origin’s 32nd flight and it will consist of an 11-minute journey into space. One of the members of the crew is Mark Rocket, who is an entrepreneur and the CEO of Kea Aerospace. His company “sends remotely piloted aircraft into the stratosphere to collect aerial imagery and data” as reported by Business Insider. Mark Rocket, who changed his surname to match his passion, will also be the first New Zealander to go to space.

Paul Jeris is another member of the next set of Blue Origin’s crew and his father was a NASA engineer. Paul is an entrepreneur, a real estate businessman, and a world traveler. Blue Origin revealed that Paul has visited over 148 countries. Regarding this opportunity to visit space, Paul mentioned that he is extremely excited as he had always taken a keen interest in historic space launches.

Canadian entrepreneur Jesse Williams is another one of the crew members and he is the CEO of Car History Group. His company provides public “information about vehicles to prospective buyers” as reported by Business Insider. Williams’ LinkedIn profile mentions that his other ventures include WuYi Tea, Penguin Leads, eDirect, and Dazzle White.

The fourth member of the crew is Amette Medina Jorge, a STEM teacher at Odyssey Academy in Galveston, Texas. She had led more than 60 experiments focusing on zero gravity and space and “performed in-flight 3D printing as part of a parabolic Zero-G flight” as Business Insider reported. She is also the recipient of the AIAA and Challenger Center Trailblazing STEM Educator Award, which was awarded to her in 2013.

The next crew member is Gretchen Green, who, besides being a radiologist, also serves at the US Space and Rocket Center Education Foundation Board. She also has her own company, The Expert Resource, which works as a bridge between attorneys and medical expert witnesses. She also happens to be a four-time Space Camp program alumna, which is cited by the Rocket Center.

Jamie Alemán is the final member of the crew and is a Panamanian attorney. He is also a senior partner at the law firm Alemán, Cordero, Galindo & Lee, which has been set up by him only. As per Blue Origin, Alemán “would be the first person to go to space who has visited all 193 countries recognized by the United Nations, as well as the North and South Poles” as Business Insider reported.

It should be noted here that the all female crew had faced backlash on the internet for various reasons and bizarre conspiracy theories about Katty Perry’s attire and the actual intention of the mission also did rounds. With a new crew in line, it now remains to be seen what kind of response Blue Origin’s next trip to the space garners.
