Carlos Danger Name Generator Churns Out Anthony Weiner Pseudonyms

The Carlos Danger name generator is giving folks looking to get into an Anthony Weiner-level scandal a little help in doing it anonymously.

For those who haven’t kept up with the news, Carlos Danger is the pseudonym that the disgraced former Congressman and current New York City mayoral candidate used while engaging in online trysts with a number of women. Though Weiner was already stung for a nearly identical scandal, apparently he thought the superhero-sounding name he invented would keep him from getting caught.

The jokes seemed to write themselves, and people over at The Slate took it upon themselves to come up with a Carlos Danger name generator that takes a person’s name and puts an Anthony Weiner spin on it.

Yahoo! Sports threw a few baseball players into the Carlos Danger name generator, finding that New York Mets ace Matt Harvey would be Rolando Violence. Ryan Braun, who was just suspended for the length of the season for using performance-enhancing drugs, turns out to be Pablo Death.

The Carlos Danger scandal is good for a joke, but it seems to have sunk Weiner in the polls. The Democratic candidate scored a moral character rating of 17 percent from respondents, and when he attended a public housing meeting on Wednesday evening Weiner was met with boos.

Still, he has resisted calls to exit the race and has vowed to press forward. On Wednesday he released an open letter where he admitted that sending racy texts and photos were “a terrible mistake that I unfortunately returned to during a rough time” with wife Huma Abedin.

“I want to bring my vision to the people of the city of New York. I hope they are willing to still continue to give me a second chance,” Weiner said at a new conference.

But the scandal shows little sign of going away, and if Anthony Weiner remains in the race he should be ready for continued criticism and jokes coming his way.
