Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have finalized their divorce.
After 11 years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce in March 2012 , citing irreconcilable differences.
“While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We ask for privacy and respect during this time.”
The divorce order was officially signed Tuesday , according to TMZ .
Garth and Facinelli have three daughters together, 15-year-old Luca Bella, 10-year-old Lola Ray, and 6-year-old Fiona Eve. Both have declined spousal support, but are funding a joint bank account for their daughters’ care and education. Both have full access to the accounts, and both will deposit money in equal amounts. The former couple has also agreed to share 50/50 custody of their daughters, but has not made a formal agreement.
Even though she admitted to being hurt that their marriage was over, Garth said in December that she was happy for her now-ex-husband after he went public with his relationship with 29-year-old Thor actress Jaimie Alexander .
“I think there will come a time when it won’t sting so bad … But I’m not quite there yet,” she said. “You know, I am happy that he is happy, though.”
Alexander said that she and Facinelli, who is 10 years her senior, have been “friends forever” and reconnected in the middle of 2012.
“It was one of those things where I’d been single for a very long time and he was going through a lot. We sort of bonded,” she said.
At the time, Garth had also moved on and said that she was happily dating. However, she wouldn’t give a name for her new beau. The 41-year-old was spotted on a date with Jason Clark, the healthcare solutions managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle.
