Ohio State University On ‘High Alert’ After Threat Of Violence


Ohio State University is on “high alert” after threat of violence discovered online. Both Columbus police and FBI agents are increasing safety patrols on campus. The potential violence threat was reportedly posed on a role playing game website that is popular with students.

The OSU threat indicated an attack could take place at the Ohio college’s cafeteria. Ohio State University officials are reportedly working with local law enforcement officers and the FBI to investigate and “mitigate” and threat.

11:50 am UPDATE – OSU police were informed about online postings which reportedly indicated a potential public safety threat. An additional police presence was ordered around Ohio State University dining halls.

A release from Ohio State University campus security reads:

“We continue to investigate and are taking these posts seriously to the point of having extra police and security presence on and around campus dining facilities. We have the assistance of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.”
