Fox’s ‘Goodwin Games’ Gets May Premiere Date

Fox’s midseason comedy series The Goodwin Games has finally been given a premiere date.

The series will premiere May 20 at 8:30 and will run for seven consecutive weeks, according to Deadline.

The comedy hasn’t been officially canceled, but it is considered to be dead in the water. In November, Fox cut the episode order from 13 episodes to seven. Fox has also allowed the cast members of The Goodwin Games to take other jobs, and many of them have.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Grey’s Anatomy alum Scott Foley landed a major arc on another Shondaland series, NBC’s Scandal. Foley’s role was being kept for tightly wrapped up, but his character has since been revealed to be Capt. Jake Ballard, an old Navy buddy of President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) who has his on Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) in more ways than one.

Cast members T.J. Miller and Melissa Tang have booked TV pilots. So has young actress Sabrina Carpenter, who will be playing Maya Fox, the best friend of Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) in the upcoming Boy Meets World sequel, Girl Meets World.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Goodwin Games focuses on three estranged siblings — Henry (Foley), Jimmy (Miller), and Chloe (Becki Newton) — who are forced to compete for their father’s inheritance and end up reconnecting with each other in the process. Miller scored the third lead role, which was originally played by James Lacy in the pilot, last June.

The series is from How I Met Your Mother executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, as well as Chris Harris.

Scott Foley confirmed the series’ premiere date on Twitter:
