Girl Beaten With Hatchet And Raped, Found Naked And Bleeding Outside Movie Theater

Houston, TX — A 16-year-old girl was found naked and bleeding outside a Houston movie theater late Tuesday.

The teenager, whose identity hasn’t been released, was begging for help in a theater parking lot around midnight, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilliland. Between 10:15 and 11:45 pm, the teenager was walking westbound in the 16660 block of Spring Cypress when a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her into a wooded area near Cypress Woods High School. The man sexually assaulted her and hit her in the head several times with a hatchet.

The girl said the man left right after the attack. She left the woods and crossed the high school campus before ending up in the parking lot of a movie theater. She was found by outgoing theater patrons just before midnight, and witnesses said she had a serious head wound that was bleeding profusely.

The girl was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. Her condition has not been released, but Gilliland said she is expected to survive.

Investigators weren’t able to get much information from the girl, and they have yet to figure out where she was going and where she had been prior to the attack. All they know at the moment is that the girl did not know her attacker and had not noticed him before he grabbed.

The attacker is described as a white male, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, thin to muscular build, wearing dark-colored clothing. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
