‘American Horror Story’ Season 6: And The Theme For ‘AHS6’ Is… Roanoke

FX has successfully kept the theme for Season 6 of American Horror Story under wraps until the premiere of Episode 1 tonight. So what did you think of the reveal? Are you excited to see this season will focus on the true event known as the Roanoke mystery?

FX kept fans guessing right up until the very beginning of Episode 1 about the theme for Season 6 of American Horror Story. Many teaser clips and images were released– 26 clips in total, making it hard for fans to narrow it down significantly. Although, some fans were optimistic by pointing out there were now still 25 other great ideas for future seasons of American Horror Story.

Right up until Season 6 of American Horror Story aired, fans were still trying to work out the theme from the clues given. An earlier Inquisitr article picked the best six predicted themes for Season 6. This included Vulture, however, threw caution to the wind and made up their own wild suggestions for themes. These ideas ranged from an intergalactic theme using Asylum‘s aliens as a connection and suggesting Finn Wittrock is actually a cyborg soldier, through to a Glee theme suggesting when children die in this season they will be stuck in their Glee-like hell forever, just like in American Horror Story‘s fifth season, Hotel.

Fans waited with baited breath, right up until the very final moments when the Season 6 Roanoke theme was revealed for American Horror Story. Fans were so excited to find out the Season 6 theme of American Horror Story would be based on a true event. However, this was somewhat expected considering previous seasons of AHS have also been inspired by true and macabre tales. However, there was some confusion initially about the Season 6 theme. While they knew the theme would be based on a true story, it was unclear at first that it was about Roanoke.

Actually, this concept of each episode of Season 6 of American Horror Story being based on a different true life event suddenly makes those multitude of trailers released before the premiere a little more exciting. If each episode focuses on a different true story, then many more of those trailers could be true now, even if FX’s chief John Landgraf said there was only one true theme.

Then it started raining teeth and some fans were still confused as to what the main theme was. While the marketing behind the Season 6 theme reveal for American Horror Story is a fantastic idea, some fans wondered if the reveal should have been made clearer at the very start of the show.

Luckily, FX stepped in and helped fans out with their tweet explaining the Season 6 theme for American Horror Story in greater detail, “40k homes in the middle of the woods = haunted demon nests of terror.”

This made the Roanoke theme for AHS6 much clearer. According to ET Online, this true story centers around an event that occurred in Roanoke in which an entire community disappeared in 1590.
