Blake Shelton Admits Gwen Stefani ‘Saved His Life,’ Hints At Cheating In Miranda Lambert Marriage

Blake Shelton is getting seriously candid about his relationship with Gwen Stefani, and he appears to be hinting that infidelity could have led to his 2015 divorce from Miranda Lambert.

Blake spoke openly about how he and Gwen found love during their respective divorces in a new interview with Billboard, admitting that Stefani “saved his life” while he was in the “middle of hell” following his breakup.

“Gwen saved my life,” Shelton said. “Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician?”

Recalling how the two first grew close after meeting while the two were working on The Voice, Shelton confessed in the new interview that he actually “never really got to know” Gwen for about two years, but revealed that the two began to bond after Blake broke the news of his divorce to his fellow coaches last year.

“I won’t forget that day,” Shelton told the magazine of the day he told Stefani that he was ending his marriage with Miranda Lambert. “I looked over at Gwen — who I didn’t really know — and she had these huge tears in her eyes,” Blake recalled. “I thought, ‘Wow, she feels super bad for me!'”

Shelton admitted that he and Stefani then shared an intense conversation, where Gwen confessed that she too was splitting with her spouse, Gavin Rossdale, after 14 years of marriage.

“She said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it,'” Blake said of how their romance began to blossom from friendship into something much, much more.

“It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email to maybe three times a week,” Shelton continued, “then every day, to ‘Hey, here’s my phone number if you ever want to text.'”

“Next thing I know, I wake up and she’s all I care about, and I’m wondering if she feels the same about me,” Shelton said.

Blake Shelton then appeared to allude to the possibility that infidelity could have played a factor in his divorce from Miranda, admitting that his and Gwen’s respective divorces were extremely similar.

“You can’t even imagine the similarities in our divorces,” Shelton candidly admitted.

Neither Blake nor Gwen has confirmed that cheating resulted in their 2015 breakups, although it has been largely speculated that Stefani split with Rossdale after she discovered that he had cheated.

Us Weekly claimed last year that Gwen allegedly ended their marriage after discovering that Rossdale had been unfaithful with the family’s nanny, just months before she began her romance with Blake.

“It completely devastated her,'” an insider alleged to the site while revealing how she reacted to the supposed cheating revelation. “She was mortified, livid, and embarrassed.”

Neither Stefani nor Rossdale have ever officially confirmed the cheating speculation, although Gwen did allude to drama in a 2016 interview with Harpers Bazaar when she also spoke candidly about falling in love with Blake. Gwen revealed that something happened in her marriage, but she wasn’t ready to spill all the details.

“It’s because I have children. As a famous person, you start to think, ‘I can’t say all that because I’ll embarrass them or hurt them in some way,'” Gwen told the magazine of why she would never reveal exactly what lead to her divorce ahead of her romance with Blake. “Especially now because they can see everything and hear everything. But I’ve done nothing I’m shamed of.”

Cheating rumors have also surrounded Blake’s divorce from Miranda, with a number of Shelton’s fans most recently alleging that Lambert confirmed that infidelity might have ended her four-year marriage to Blake through the candid lyrics in her new single, “Vice.”
