Mother And Son Tie Up Man She Met On Dating Website


A mother and her teenage son allegedly tied up and beat a man the woman met on a dating website, according to the Sun-Sentinel/i>. In addition to facing charges of attempted homicide and unlawful imprisonment, the pair are being charged with grand theft auto and aggravated battery. The teenager will reportedly be tried as an adult for his role in the savage scheme.

The Associated Press reports that 40-year-old Bobbie Jo Curtis used a popular dating website to meet an unidentified 44-year-old man. Following a very brief courtship, the guy invited Curtis and her teenage son to movie into his home. Before too long, the man realized his decision was a serious mistake. The new love in his life soon showed her true colors, forcing her son to tie up and beat her boyfriend.

To make matters worse, a third individual soon joined the festivities by helping the mother and son steal several items from the man’s house. Presently, the victim is in critical condition, having suffered a number of serious head injuries during the ordeal.

According to Tampa Bay Online, the man’s 69-year-old neighbor was also assaulted by the criminals. After spying the group removing items from his friend’s home, he attempted to enter the victim’s homestead. Instead of asking the concerned citizen to mind his own business, they struck him over the head with a baseball bat. Another neighbor witnessed the incident and phoned police.

The aforementioned mom and her teenage offspring were arrested by police at a nearby motel on Saturday. Authorities reportedly received an anonymous tip that the pair were hanging out at the Riverside Inn in New Port Richey, Florida. It didn’t take long for police to swoop in and apprehend the suspects.

Bobbie Jo Curtis and her 16-year-old son Bryan are currently being held at the Pasco County jail. The third suspect, meanwhile, is still at large.
