Liam Fee Murder Trial — Mom And Lesbian Partner Found Guilty Of Neglecting, Abusing, And Killing Toddler

In what might be one of the worst child abuse cases in Scotland’s history, Rachel Fee and Nyomi Fee have been convicted of murdering their own child. According to the Mirror, the lesbian couple was found guilty of the murder of Liam Fee after claiming another child had committed the crime.

Liam was only 2-years-old at the time of his death.

In the months leading up to his tragic murder, Liam was exposed to extreme bouts of pain and suffering. In the end, he died of a ruptured heart, like some victims of car accidents.

Rachel and Nyomi assaulted, neglected, and abused two boys, one of whom was Liam while the other they claimed killed their 2-year-old.

The abuse happened over the course of Liam’s life.

The two women kept the boys locked in a cage while at home, forced them to take cold showers, bound them in a room full of snakes and rats, and made them consume animal excrement.

The trial has lasted over the course of seven weeks. The two women lived in a home close to Glenrothes.

During the trial, both women denied the accusations of murder and placed the blame solely on the second boy, whose identity has been concealed.

Fortunately, Rachel and Nyomi were found guilty of all of the charges leveled against them. The jury delivered the verdict after 10 hours of deliberation. Both women could receive life terms in prison for their actions and the death of Liam Fee.

Meanwhile, residents who lived nearby have now come forward with their complaints about the two women. According to BBC News, one neighbor, Ms. Smith, told Good Morning Scotland that she called social services following an encounter that left her with a “gut-wrenching” feeling.

“I had passed them in the street. I noticed he [Liam] was lying flat in the buggy. He had a blanket over his head and the mother told me he wasn’t sleeping, he was actually awake,” Smith shared. “At that point that’s when alarm bells started ringing. She then went on to state he had autism, again this was something that couldn’t be right because I knew the little boy. It was then that I got this gut-wrenching feeling and decided to speak to my line manager [at work] and call child protection services.”

Sadly, social services did nothing to help out the poor boy. Instead, they informed Ms. Smith that some people have different views on how to raise children.

“They told me that they would send a health visitor round, but the feeling I got after that call was that I shouldn’t have bothered,” she added. “I personally felt like they were maybe getting quite a few calls about them and this one was just another one on the list that was creating them more work.”

The court has officially called for a review of the social work department in Fife.

At the same time, BBC News is also reporting that friends of the two women were shocked by the news of the murder.

“I didn’t think in a million years she was capable of any of that stuff, especially towards a baby,” Sean Catherall explained.

After Liam’s death, Catherall opened his home and took Rachel and Nyomi in for a while.

“They weren’t bothered,” Catherall stated. “They were sort of laughing, joking that they were going to get sent to jail for neglect… saying ‘do you think we’ll get the same cell together,’ stuff like that.”

Along with his ruptured heart, doctors concluded that Liam had double fractures on both his thigh and arm. Doctors astonishingly counted some 30 plus injuries to Liam Fee’s body at the time of death.
