People are going to town on the auction page of the United Gun Group listing titled “George Zimmerman’s Gun used 2/26/12.” Posted by George Zimmerman on Thursday, May 12, the auction was the second time Zimmerman tried to sell the gun used in the shooting death of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Zimmerman’s gun auction listing has been taken over by people listing fake names and placing fake bids in the auction box. On Friday morning, a bid of more than $65 million was posted on Zimmerman’s auction page with the name “Racist McShootFace.”

While that account was deleted, other names such as Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old boy who was shot to death in a Cleveland park in 2014, are appearing on Zimmerman’s listing on the website for the United Gun Group. That listing started on Thursday after Zimmerman’s attempts to sell the gun used in the death of Martin on a different website, called GunBroker.com, fell through.

While GunBroker.com stated that they didn’t want any part in listing Zimmerman’s gun or in receiving the attention that the auction received, the United Gun Group apparently feels differently.

Zimmerman’s words are included with the listing for the gun, with the former neighborhood watch volunteer receiving more than 1,000 bids for the weapon. As of this writing, the latest bidder for the gun is listed as Craig Bryant, with the auction scheduled to end in less than five days.

With a starting price of $5,000 and no current “buy it now” price listed, the gun is certainly causing controversy. The auction’s top bid right now is $65,039,000, which means that some of Zimmerman’s “prospective bidders” are still finding ways to trick the United Gun Group’s system with fake bids.

Zimmerman’s words stating that he is “honored and humbled” to sell the iconic gun isn’t sitting well with some folks who are taking the opportunity to hijack the gun auction website.

“I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012. The gun is a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm. It has recently been returned to me by the Department of Justice. The pistol currently has the case number written on it in silver permanent marker. Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History. It has been featured in several publications and in current University text books. Offers to purchase the Firearm have been received; however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with. The firearm is fully functional as the attempts by the Department of Justice on behalf of [President] Obama to render the firearm inoperable were thwarted by my phenomenal Defense Attorney. I recognize the purchaser’s ownership and right to do with the firearm as they wish.”

Meanwhile, Zimmerman guarantees that the gun is valid and talks about an attempt on his life by a man whom he calls a Black Lives Matter sympathizer named Matthew Apperson. George calls himself proud to announce that some of the monies gained from the sale of the gun will go towards defending Black Lives Matter violence against police officers.

He also mentions “Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric” and pitches the gun sale as the “opportunity to own a piece of American History,” before wishing people good luck in the auction. Closing with the sign-off that calls himself George M. Zimmerman and “your friend,” Zimmerman dips into a bit of Latin at the end of his auction.

Zimmerman writes “Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum,” which means, “If you want peace, prepare for war.”
