Vampchick Blogger Murdered Her Mom And Stepdad

A Wisconsin blogger has admitted to murdering her mother and stepfather in a violent crime that has been described as “vicious.” New York Daily News reports that 18-year-old Ashlee Martinson, who pleaded guilty, may face up to 4o years of imprisonment.

The horrific incident took place in 2015. The then-17-year-old teen went on the run after her mother and stepfather (both 40 years old) were found brutally stabbed and shot to death in their home. The teen’s younger siblings were also found in the home, unharmed. They had been locked in a room away from the scene of the murder.

Martinson was found by authorities approximately 500 miles away from the home where she murdered her mom and stepdad. Her mother died from blood loss associated with the multiple wounds her own daughter inflicted on her with a blade. Thomas Ayers, her stepfather, had been shot dead.

Prior to the murders of Thomas and Jennifer Ayers, the 17-year-old girl had been a blogger. On her personal blog, she made a very disturbing post which detailed a gruesome murder. This post (which has since been removed) has been linked to the violent slayings of the married couple. In the blog post, the teen, who called herself Vampchick, taunted readers with a tale of the macabre.

“I hope you can stomach all the fanfare. I wish that you devour every tid bit I have for you. If you are ready, I will paint the streets red just for you.”

While this was indeed a grisly crime of parricide, the teen has claimed, thoroughly, that she had been subjected to years of abuse. Martinson claims that she had been sexually assaulted by one of her mother’s previous boyfriends, and burned with cigarettes. She also claimed that her stepfather had abused her as well. These were claims that were also backed up by the younger siblings she locked in a room at the time of the murder. Not only did the siblings allege that Ayers was abusive, but his criminal record has also included convictions associated with sexual assault and kidnapping.

Claims of abuse aren’t uncommon in cases of teenagers killing adults. In 2014, a Louisiana teen allegedly shot his father and 2-year-old sister to death. He claimed that he had been the target of abuse for years, which drove him to the violent shooting that took place. Authorities in St. Tammany Parish say that the teen had expressed “hatred for his father.”

In 1990, 18-year-old Stacey Lannert shot her father two times while he was asleep on the sofa in their home. She later confessed to killing the man, and claimed that he had been sexually abusing her for most of her life. She said he threatened her with physical violence for years to keep her from telling on him. She claimed that fear for her little sister drove her to taking the man’s life. Lannert was released from prison in 2009, and has lived an otherwise uneventful life.

In this latest case, the teen blogger’s estranged family members are angered by the plea deal she was given. The brother of her slain stepfather says that she should have been convicted of first-degree murder, since she had clearly planned the violent incident. He is also angry that the teen has made claims of abuse against the man, who is now unable to defend himself against any scrutiny.

“I think she stretched the truth to save her own neck.”

Don Ayers also says that the abuse allegations against his deceased brother and his wife are “overblown.”

Do you think Ashlee Martinson killed her mother and stepfather after enduring years of abuse and mistreatment? Or was she fueled by mental instability? If she serves the entire 40-year-sentence she is expected to get, she will be close to 60 years old when she is released. Had she been convicted of first-degree murder, she’d never have been given a chance at freedom.
