Caitlyn Jenner: ‘I Am Cait’ Star Joins The Political Debate — Who Does She Support?

Transgender spokesperson Caitlyn Jenner has been quite active in debating politics recently. The former Olympic gold medalist and Kardashian stepdad-turned-transgender woman has been speaking out on transgender rights since her gender transition last July. Make no bones about it: Caitlyn Jenner has found her voice, and she is making sure her opinions are heard.

Caitlyn Jenner is Republican and has always been. She says that changing one’s gender does not mean changing one’s core values. Caitlyn Jenner finds it interesting that she feels she has received as much opposition over her Republican and conservative values as becoming a transgender woman.

“Republicans and the conservatives are not these horrible people out there trying to oppress people. I don’t feel like they’re out to get us. Every conservative guy out there believes in everybody’s rights. None of the Republicans are ‘I hate trans people’ or ‘I hate gays.’ They do nothing of that. I want a driving economy so every trans person has a job.”

In an interview with the Washington Post, Caitlyn Jenner explains that she likes Ted Cruz because he is conservative and articulate. The reason Caitlyn Jenner has come under such fire for her support of Cruz is due to her belief that as far as trans issues go, Cruz would be the very worst candidate for the job. The trans community agrees. So why would Caitlyn Jenner support such a candidate? She explains herself in the following comment.

“Number 1, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues. We need jobs. We need a vibrant economy. I want every trans person to have a job. With $19 trillion in debt and it keeps going up, we’re spending money we don’t have. Eventually, it’s going to end. And I don’t want to see that. Socialism did not build this country. Capitalism did. Free enterprise. The people built it. And they need to be given the opportunity to build it back up.”

According to Salon, Caitlyn Jenner shared her feelings on Hillary Clinton during the I Am Cait premiere this week in a conversation with her friends. She is not a fan. No matter what Hillary says, Jenner believes she is a selfish person who only thinks about herself.

“I’m open. We need both sides and if we’re unfortunate enough to get Hillary as our next president, we need her on our side. Although she won’t be. She couldn’t care less about women. She cares about herself.”

Caitlyn Jenner says that although she likes Ted Cruz, Jenner has not given an endorsement to any of the candidates so far, and it remains unseen if she is poised to throw her support irrevocably behind Ted Cruz or any of the other presidential hopefuls. One thing is for certain: It will not be Hillary Clinton.

In other Caitlyn Jenner news, she is super pumped that she’s finally received her own locker at her golf club. Apparently, that’s a huge deal.
