‘Days Of Our Lives’ Casting News: Brandon Beemer To Return As Shawn-Douglas Brady

There is some Days of Our Lives casting news out that confirms what DOOL fans have been speculating for a while now. Though Jason Cook recently returned to the show to reprise his role as Shawn-Douglas Brady, there is a change on the horizon for this character. Brandon Beemer will be taking over the role not too far down the road.

This will not be Brandon Beemer’s first time in the role of Shawn-Douglas Brady, so that may help DOOL fans adjust to the shift ahead. Jason Cook played the character from 1999 to 2006, but then Beemer took over from 2006 to 2008. There had been quite a bit of talk swirling that Cook was only heading back to Salem for about two months this fall, but there had been plenty of hints that Shawn would be staying in town much longer than that.

After some photos of the show’s 50th-anniversary celebration hit Twitter and Beemer was seen in them, the news of the official recasting spread. According to We Love Soaps, it is true that Beemer is taking over for Cook in order to keep this core Brady character in town for an extended period of time. In Brandon’s time away from DOOL, he had gigs on The Bold and the Beautiful, The Stafford Project, Dirty Soap, and CSI: Miami.

It has been known for a while now that Martha Madison would be returning to Days of Our Lives in the role of Belle as well, and it has sounded like she is also sticking around for a while. Luckily for DOOL fans, seeing Madison and Beemer as Belle and Shawn will not be a new combination, as the two did work together previously in the roles. Now that the talk about Beemer heading back to the show has escalated, he has taken to Twitter to confirm it as well.

While fans will be happy to see this family back together again, there are Days of Our Lives spoilers floating around that it might not be an entirely happy scenario. Bo Brady has just returned to town and saved Hope from Aiden’s murder plan, but there is buzz that Bo will be facing horrible news very soon that will certainly impact Shawn and Belle as well.

Beemer is not the only person taking up residence in Salem over the coming weeks or months. As She Knows Soaps teases, Real Andrews, known by many for his time on General Hospital as Marcus Taggert, or from All My Children and As the World Turns, is heading to the show too. Alexander Bruszt is hitting Salem in the role of Fynn Thompson, and Jordi Vilasuso will play Dario Hernandez.

All My Children star Vincent Irizarry is popping up beginning in early 2016 in a role and Tamara Braun returns as Ava. Nadia Bjorlin heads back to Salem briefly as Chloe and John-Paul Lavoisier takes over the role of Philip Kiriakis on DOOL beginning in December.

While there are many new faces heading to Salem, Days of Our Lives spoilers have detailed at least a few more departures as well. It is known that both Eve and Daniel are leaving, and possibly at least one more core character bidding Salem farewell soon as well.

DOOL fans know there is plenty more drama ahead these next few months as Bo and Hope face new difficulties, Sami searches for EJ, and Steve faces an old foe. The Necktie Killer case continues twists and turns with Ben, Chad, and Abigail, as well and fans, are bracing themselves for big moments ahead.

Just what lies ahead for Shawn and Belle in their return? Will viewers embrace Brandon Beemer as he returns to the role on Days of Our Lives on January 19, 2016? It’s been a wild fall already and fans can’t wait to see what comes next.
