Brooks Ayers initially was not a familiar face to devoted followers of The Real Housewives of Orange County. But because his Real Housewives star girlfriend Vicki Gunvalson was the OG (Old Girl) of the OC (Orange County), Ayers gradually became more of an accepted presence on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Ayers and his claims that he had cancer increasingly took center stage even after he broke up with the reality TV show’s OG. As the women continued to push to find proof, some of the Real Housewives stars, such as Meghan King Edmonds, became particularly determined to find evidence that he had lied.
Now that the RHOC season finale has ended with its final drama, as the Inquisitr reported, it’s time for the Real Housewives reunion. But even before it aired on Monday, Ayers took the time to explain why he split and whether he blames it on the brouhaha over his health or his ex-girlfriend.
Also chiming in, as discussed below, are Meghan King Edmonds’ husband, Jim Edmonds, and Vicki’s daughter, Briana Culberson, both of whom have their own unique views.
While Briana was reportedly relieved when she learned that Ayers had broken up with her mom, he claims he felt even better about the split, reported E! News.
He revealed that the couple consulted a counselor in March.
“We began seeing, of all things, a reality TV couples counselor. We made the decision that we probably weren’t going to be for forever, and when I made that statement mid-July in the counseling session, it was like…the piano was lifted off my back.”
But did Ayers really have the disease that he claimed, and why did the answer to that question become of so much concern to the entire Real Housewives Of Orange County cast? Meghan King’s husband, Jim Edmonds, thinks he has the answer, according to the Daily Dish.
Jim is a baseball star, but when it comes to drama, Edmonds admits that his wife, Meghan, and her search to uncover the facts versus fiction about the disease diagnosis was over the top. That investigation by Meghan unfolded even as the sad reality of the death of Jim’s ex LeAnn cast shadows over LeAnn’s friends and family.
“[Meghan] was going through something with my ex-wife and she was deep into it with the kids,” Jim explained.
“And she’s watching a person die, and then a guy that has cancer that opted not to ever do anything about it was kind of shocking. Here my wife’s trying to get my ex-wife into doctors and hospitals, and this guy’s getting doors opened for him and he’s not even showing up for appointments.”
Consequently, Edmonds theorized, Meghan became frustrated and exploded repeatedly. But Jim is accepting of her behavior and that of the rest of the Real Housewives cast members.
“Those girls need that drama because they need that show to survive. We don’t need that,” said Edmonds.
Also offering her views on the Real Housewives brewing brouhahas is Vicki’s daughter Briana, who is an ER nurse and doubted her mom’s boyfriends claims both before and after they broke up, as the Inquisitr reported.
On previous episodes of Real Housewives, the PET scan had come up and been questioned as to its authenticity in proving that Ayers was telling the truth about his health, and Tamra Judge talked with Briana about that issue.
“If he’s lying about this, I’ll kill him,” Briana warns bluntly.
In addition, the worried ER nurse predicts that her mother will either find out the truth or one day he will abruptly become cured.
But Ayers claims that Briana’s dislike for him has nothing to do with his health reports, reported E! News.
“[We] dated a year prior to Briana ever meeting me,” revealed Ayers.
He also claims that Briana never gave him a chance to get to know him, and then took the time to slam his ex-girlfriend’s daughter based on her behavior behind the Real Housewives scenes and to his face.
“I think that Briana had some significant issues as a child growing up with some ‘Daddy issues.'”
