Donald Trump is running for President. How do we know? He told us so in a rambling video, where he dropped gems like this one.

“When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let’s say China in a trade deal? I beat China all the time. All the time.”

And this one.

“I’m really rich… That’s the kind of thinking you need for this country. Because you’ve got to make the country rich. It sounds crass. … It’s not crass.”

Oh, and this one.

“I’m really proud of my success, I really am.”

In typical fashion, Twitter users largely responded to the news by roasting Donald Trump and his presidential aspirations. Here are some of the most hilarious tweets.

Trump has flirted with the prospect of running for president before. But there were some serious indicators leading up to this announcement that pointed to the fact that he was serious about it this time.

The Donald has hired staff in key primary states, Business Insider reports. He’s also assembled a political fundraising committee and initiated the release of financial disclosure documents.

The Democrats, for their part, seem to have decided that the best response to Trump’s announcement is sarcasm.

Democratic National Committee press secretary Holly Schulman released what could only be described as a particularly shady statement in light of Trump’s presidential bid.

“Today, Donald Trump became the second major Republican candidate to announce for president in two days,” Shulman said, in reference to Jeb Bush. “He adds some much-needed seriousness that has previously been lacking from the GOP field, and we look forward hearing more about his ideas for the nation.”
