2010 College Football Preview: Boise State Broncos

The Boise State Broncos will enter the 2010 CFB season as the #3 ranked team according to the Sporting News. This may be my favorite College Football team out there. I like the little guys messing with the system, and they return 22 of 24 starters from a undefeated team. To me it is a crime that they have been denied the chance to play for a national title, and the BCS really whimped out last year giving them a match up with the TCU Horned Frogs. With that said I really hate watching games on TV on the awful blue turf, but they are a different kind of team playing in a different kind of way.

The key date for this team is September 6th when they travel to Virginia Tech. Both of these programs enter 2010 as top 15 programs, the winner of this game gets set up for a National Championship run. With that said it is easier to overcome a tough early loss in College Football then it is to overcome a loss late.

The next big team for this program is OT Brenel Myers. He made his first start in the Fiesta Bowl and helped keep TCU star DE Jerry Hughes at bay. He has followed up that impressive debut with a very strong spring, and looks to be the starting RT for this team in 2010.

Boise State has been the darling of College Football for eight years now. However in 2010 they get their best chance to prove they can play with the College Football big boys. They get Virginia Tech and Oregon State in the first two games of the season, if they win those game they are legit national title contenders. Even if they split we have to consider them strong national title candidates.
