Prince George Walks, Wears Adorable Overalls In New Official Photo

Cutie alert! Prince George has a new official picture, shared by the proud parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate, in which he is seen walking and wearing adorable denim overalls. The photo was released to mark the heir to the throne’s first birthday on July 22.

The tiny royal has grown like a weed since the public last took a good look at him, when the family toured Australia and New Zealand for three weeks in April of this year. Back then, they chubby Prince appeared to be happy and very well behaved for such a hectic trip.

In the shot — taken by photographer John Stillwell of Press Association — taken outdoors near a wooden bench at the National History Museum, Prince George is seen walking with sure steps, while his little arms are wide open to help with balance. He wears Petit Bateau denim overalls, a navy blue polo shirt, matching socks, and shoes.

Somebody — perhaps his mom, Duchess Kate — made sure that he was also properly groomed and his blonde hair is nicely combed. Prince George sports a slight grin for the occasion.

The family was visiting the Sensational Butterflies exhibit on July 2, when Stillwell captured the shot. The photographer was impressed with the even tempered Prince George and shared with Us:

“He was very lively, very confident and very sure of himself. He’s a very determined young boy. And who does he look like? I’d have to say his dad, William.”

Duchess Kate — who is a patron of the Natural History Museum — and Prince William had been invited to come and visit the exhibit, which includes caterpillars, butterflies, and moths. They decided to pay a visit earlier this month, to celebrate their son’s first birthday, according to a source.

The coming days will be packed with activities to celebrate Prince George’s special day. His mom is throwing him a party at the family’s residence, Kensington Palace, a source says.

It is expected that the immediate members of the royal and Middleton families will attend the celebrations, which are expected to be held indoors. However, if the beautiful weather persists, things could move to the gorgeous gardens that grace the palace.

Buckingham Palace will also mark the occasion with an exhibit titled, Royal Childhood. The display features items belonging to royal kids over the past 250-years, including toys and clothing.

Prince George was born almost a year ago, after much anticipation and speculation about his sex. The media was camped outside St. Mary’s Hospital in London for days, when it was believed that the Duchess would give birth.
