RNC Member Dave Agema Compares Obamacare To Hitler

Republican National Committeeman Dave Agema is known for making controversial statements and Facebook posts. On Tuesday he may have done it again.

Gongwer News Service reported Agema shared a webpage showing a scene from "Downfall" with Hitler saying he did not want to see a Jewish doctor, then being told his old doctor is not on his Obamacare network, followed by Hitler screaming about the Affordable Care Act.

"Downfall" is a 2004 German film about the last days of Hitler. The Hitler screaming scene has become a common scene to use for satire.

Agema served three terms in the Michigan state House of Representatives before being term limited after 2012. He retired as a commercial pilot for American Airlines and was a fighter pilot in the Air Force during the Vietnam era.

Agema originally drew fire from both Democrats and Republicans in March, 2013 by posting to Facebook an article that said gay people were sexually promiscuous, rife with sexually transmitted diseases and responsible for "half the murders in large cities."

Grand Rapids Fox Affiliate WXMI uncovered footage of Agema speaking at Michigan's CPAC last spring where he said "I have a dream that we get a president that doesn't glorify gay NFL players."

Speaking to Berrien county Republicans in January, the Herald-Palladium reported Agema saying I'm a flight attendant." "You have AIDS. You come to me and say, 'Hey, tell them I'm your lover for the last six months.' You get on our health care."

"American Airlines spends $400,000 before you die of AIDS. And he goes on the the next, and the next, and that's what was happening."

"Folks, they want free medical because they're dying between 38 and 44 years old. It's a biggie. So, to me it's a moral issue. It's a biblical issue. Traditional marriage is where it should be and that is in our platform, so people that are opposed on that issue within our party our wrong."

When confronted over the speech Agema said "There was a journalist in the audience and wrote a news article that twisted my speech far out of context." Audio of the speech was discovered confirming what the Herald-Palladium reported.

Agema also came under fire for posting an anonymous blog on Facebook which read "Have you ever seen a Muslim do anything that contributes to the American way of Life."

He also praised praised Russia's anti-gay law posting "Read their law. Common sense in Russia!"

During the January State of The State address, governor Rick Snyder talked about showing more civility to people with "Different backgrounds and views" not mentioning Snyder by name.

Agema did not attend The State Of The State address.

Michigan GOP chairman Bobby Schostak as well as national chairman Reince Priebus have called on Agema to resign.
