77 Air Force Cadets Sent To Hospital After Lightning Strike

A frightening scenario played out on Wednesday in Mississippi when a lightening strike at the Camp Shelby Air Force base sent 77 Air Force ROTC cadets to the hospital.

The lightning bolt struck a power pole near tents where the cadets were being housed, forcing all 77 men and women to be transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Two of the cadets were rushed to the hospital by ambulance and were cleared of serious injury while the remaining 75 college aged cadets were all responsive and stable.
