Ben Kingsley’s ‘Secret’ Project Might Be A Marvel One Shot [Rumor]

Ben Kingsley recently teased that he was working on a secret project for Marvel. According to recent reports, this could be a Mandarin-based One Shot.

Although the actor and the studio have yet to officially release any details on the matter, the folks at Latino Review believe they’ve unearthed some specifics about the project. As always, take this information with a grain of salt.

If you haven’t seen Iron Man 3, then you may want to steer clear of this article. Since you can’t discuss Ben Kingsley’s secret Marvel project without dropping plot details from this summer’s sequel, there are definitely some spoilers lurking down below.

Instead of the Mandarin, Ben Kingsley plays actor Trevor Slattery in director Shane Black’s Iron Man 3. The rumored Marvel One Shot would reportedly tell the story of the real villain and his reaction to being portrayed by an actor. In short: He’s probably upset.

The website explains:

“The real Mandarin is furious with Aldrich Killian and Ben Kingsley’s character Trevor Slattery for the mockery they made of the real Mandarin’s identity and legacy. The real Mandarin wants to set the record straight.”

Ben Kingsley previously teased the Marvel project during a recent chat with The Belfast Telegraph. Although he gave fans a little bit of information to chew on at the time, he stopped short of revealing any specific details.

“It’s a secret Marvel project. I’m not allowed to say any more, you’re going to have to wait and see,” the Ender’s Game star said during his interview.

Kingsley said he was extremely excited to work with the Iron Man 3 crew one more time. Although he seemed very eager to discuss the matter, the actor refused to spill the beans about Marvel Studios’ extremely secret project.

He continued:

“I was with many members of the crew that were involved in Iron Man 3. It was lovely to see them again. It was great to be with this wonderful family. I think they have enormous taste as creative artists. There’s nothing lazy or gratuitous about their work. They are at the top of their game, and they’re great company to keep.”
