Obama: Fainting Woman Needed ‘Obamacare’ During Speech [Watch]

As President Barack Obama stood at the podium extolling the virtues of the new Obamacare reforms, a woman standing behind him in the White House Rose Garden almost fainted.

As you can see from the video above a rather peaky looking pregnant woman called Karmel Allison, standing behind the President, went fifty shades of grey and looked like she was about to hit the deck.

The brave president, who ironically was talking about the new health care laws enacted under his administration, can be seen turning to the fainting woman and steadying her.

What is even more ironic is that as she looked like she was going to fall President Obama was uttering the words, “the law works.”

Karmel Allison, the San Diego grad student who has suffered from diabetes all her life, was staring straight ahead looking gaunt and taking deep breaths. Other participants in the crowd assisted her and also steadied her.

When Obama turned round to help her himself, he can be heard saying to the woman: “I got you, you’re OK,” immediately following his words of support with the witty quip, “This happens when I talk too long,” to the great amusement of the crowd.

To make things just that little bit more ironic the woman was invited to the White House for the speech as she is one of 13 people who have already apparently benefited from the new health reforms.

After the event Allison took to her Twitter account: “I’m ok world — just got a little light-headed. Thanks, @BarackObama for catching me!” She Tweeted.

She spoke on her blog last week about the way diabetes has affected her recently: “I’m going on nearly two decades as a diabetic now, but Friday night was a first for me, and one of the worst blood sugar nights I have ever had.”
