‘Modern Family’ Actress Ariel Winter, Known For Portraying Alex Dunphy, Graduates High School Following The End Of Season 7

Viewers of Modern Family have seen Ariel Winter, best known for portraying Alex Dunphy in the hit comedy, grow through her teenage years. Outside of the show, Ariel Winter has faced an awful lot of attention concerning her personal life, especially since turning 18 earlier this year.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Season 7 of Modern Family recently came to an end and Ariel Winter faced an exciting personal milestone: graduating high school. The 18-year-old actress has attended Campbell Hall School, a private high school in Studio City, California whilst playing the role of Alex Dunphy in Modern Family. Campbell Hall School is well known for its alumni of various famous actors and actresses including Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning.

Ariel Winter will reprise her role as Alex Dunphy in the upcoming eighth season of Modern Family. However, she announced earlier this year that alongside her acting career, she’ll also be attending college at the University of California Los Angeles, or UCLA as it’s more commonly known, saying “I love UCLA. Everyone in my family loves UCLA. It’s an amazing school.” Acceptance into UCLA wasn’t a given for Winter, though, as she continued “When I got the acceptance letter I literally just sat and cried staring at my computer.”

According to the Daily Mail, Ariel Winter used her Instagram account to share her graduation day with fans. Winter certainly sought to impress during her graduation too, choosing a form-fitting nude dress for the occasion and studded heels by Christian Louboutin.

The actress joined the cast of Modern Family in 2009 when she was just 11 years old. Viewers of the show have seen Winter grow up alongside her character, Alex Dunphy before both Winter and her character in Modern Family turned 18 earlier this year. However, whilst Alex Dunphy in Modern Family is often seen as the quiet, intelligent character by other members of the family, Ariel Winter herself is quite the party animal, regularly celebrating with personal friends and other members of the show’s cast, including her fictional sister, Sarah Hyland.

With her work on Modern Family and her studies, the year ahead is certainly going to be a busy one for Ariel Winter. The star is currently filming for Burt Reynolds’s upcoming dark comedy, Dog Years. The film sees Reynolds play an aging former movie star who is grappling with the fact that his best days are behind him. During her time filming for Dog Years, Ariel Winter has shared several photographs to her Instagram account, including various shots with Burt Reynolds himself.

Modern Family saw something of a ratings drop with its most recent season across 2015 and 2016. However, ABC still decided to renew the show for an eighth season, despite calls that its formula is getting tired. Each new season of Modern Family typically airs from late September through to the following May, with various breaks throughout the year. With that in mind, Ariel Winter and other Modern Family cast members will soon begin work on the eighth season of the show, which will ultimately decide if it will be renewed for a ninth season.
