WWE Rumors: Braun Strowman Attacked By Fan After Monday Night Raw

WWE rumors are swirling around Braun Strowman. He was attacked by a fan while working a dark match after Monday Night Raw a couple of hours ago, according to Wrestling Inc. The incident took place as the Wyatt Family took on Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns in a six-man tag-team match. Not a lot of details are being revealed right now, but security was quick to jump in and remove the unruly person from the arena.

Professional wrestling is already a tough job. The performers put their bodies on the line for the sake of entertainment. Many live with pain every single day, both while on the road and years after they step away from the ring. The job becomes a lot harder when they have to worry about their work environment. Unfortunately for wrestlers, there are still a lot of wrestling fans that cannot separate fact from fiction, so that puts performers in harm’s way.

Braun Strowman joined WWE not too long ago, but he already joins a long list of performers that have been assaulted by fans. It’s happened to Roman Reigns, who happened to also be in the dark match when Strowman was attacked after Monday Night Raw. Alberto Del Rio has been involved in a couple of incidents. The former world heavyweight champion plays a convincing heel.

Alcohol might have been a factor in the incident. Braun Strowman is billed at 6’8″, 385 pounds. It’s not that difficult to fathom that his actual measurements are not far off from that. Professional wrestling promoters have long had a tendency to exaggerate a little. However, with Strowman, it’s not really needed because he is legitimately a monster. It would take a great deal of stupidity for someone to think that it would be a good idea to punch Strowman.

The timing of the incident comes at a really bad time for WWE. Wrestlemania 32 is less than two weeks away. The company is going to be mentioned by various members of the media over the next several days. Someone is bound to hear about the incident and mention it. That will cause many to worry about the safety of the performers, especially since the AT&T Center is expected to host more than 100,000 fans.

WWE is already spending a ton of money on security for Wrestlemania 32. It’s a requirement when you’re renting a palace that houses a team like the Dallas Cowboys. While Vince McMahon is probably not opposed to spending more money on security, it complicates the logistics because there’s not a whole lot of time left until the big event. Anyone that doubts that doesn’t comprehend just how big of a venue that this is.

One of the things that people have been urging WWE to do is to pursue legal action against any fans that decides to cross the line and attack the performers. Sometimes, offenders simply bail themselves out of jail without any further ramifications. World Wrestling Entertainment has high-powered attorneys. It might behoove the corporation to make an example of someone. Get them thrown behind bars for an extended period of time, and others might grow hesitant when contemplating such a stupid life decision.

Further details about the incident should hit the internet over the coming days. Hopefully, Braun Strowman wasn’t seriously injured. Hopefully, WWE will tighten up security even more so than before. Hopefully, that fan gets the type of punishment that he deserves. Professional wrestlers shouldn’t be forced to work in such a hostile environment. They’re simply traveling around the world in an attempt to entertain fans and to follow their dreams.
