We haven’t heard many reports of low morale in the WWE locker room recently. Those have usually been reserved for the roster that occupies TNA. Low morale under Vince McMahon’s watch isn’t frequent, or at least it isn’t made public knowledge, but it has been an issue on occasion. The last reported “case” of it came at the end of 2014 after Vince’s podcast on the WWE network with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. At the time, reports surfaced that WWE superstars were envious of the NXT locker room.

A far cry from the days of WWE stars wondering if the grass was greener in WCW, but maybe even more, so vice versa. When you hear wrestlers complain when people say that the WWE is the only game in town left, they’re generally wrestlers that work for the lower-level promotions or on the independent scene. That’s not an indictment on the work they do around the world, but you’ll often hear those same wrestlers say that the WWE is the pinnacle of their profession if they’re ever given the chance to sign there.

However, because the WWE is the only game in town, there’s a tendency for the current crop of stars to walk on eggshells in the locker room for fear of losing the job that will give them the best chance at stardom. PWInsider (via Daily Wrestling News ) is reporting that that eggshell mindset has been present in WWE lately. Coming off the company’s biggest roster purge in two years, there are still many that are fearing for their job security, especially with circulating reports that more releases were on the way. Low morale over a suffering product is one thing, but fearing a pink slip might be in your locker is entirely different.

So perhaps the recent signings of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson benefited the WWE in more than one way. According to the report, it’s actually Gallows that’s been responsible for raising the spirits of many of his fellow superstars backstage in WWE. In his short time back in his second stint with the company, Gallows has quickly become one of the most popular talent on the roster. Apparently, Doc has recognized the paranoia among his peers and has been doing his best to alleviate it with his sense of humor and upbeat attitude. Whenever he’s around, it seems that he makes the situation that much more enjoyable, and that’s a quality that every office or locker room could use in their respective workplace.

This is pure speculation, but there’s a chance there’s a corollary stemming back to The Club’s first few weeks in WWE. Gallows and Anderson were booked in a way that left a lot to be desired with their repeated attacks on The Usos. Eventually it led to more in-depth interaction with AJ Styles and Roman Reigns, but not before several other talent and WWE producers pushed for Vince and top officials to book the former Bullet Club in a way that meant more and created a bigger impact. It’s looked like Vince has listened as Gallows, Anderson, and Styles have officially joined up to form WWE’s version of The Club. There have even been more recent reports suggesting that other members might soon be joining them.

Gallows’ morale-building comes at a convenient time as he and Anderson are now working a program with The New Day, The Vaudevillains, and Enzo & Cass that will culminate with a fatal four-way match for the tag team championships at Money In The Bank . That allows Gallows the opportunity to be around that many more performers whom he can help, at least from a self-esteem or morale perspective. This summer has the potential to be a major one for The Club, and at least Luke Gallows is doing everything he can to make sure everyone else enjoys the ride along with them.
