As Chyna, real name Joan Laurer mentioned, she worked with IMPACT Wrestling briefly in 2011. Her return to wrestling generated a considerable amount of buzz, considering the “Ninth Wonder of the World” had not wrestled in nearly a decade at that point. Therefore, based on her tweet, she may be looking to enter into IMPACT Wrestling’s good graces.
However, the 44-year-old former Intercontinental champion blackballed herself from the entire professional wrestling industry after beginning a career in the adult entertainment industry. Upon learning of Chyna’s second adult film being scheduled for release, IMPACT Wrestling informed Chyna that if the film was released, she’d be released.
The film was released and was titled Backdoor to Chyna, thus opening the exit door on her wrestling career and closing it behind her.
Since that time, Chyna has gone on to release several other adult films, becoming a staple and award winner within the adult entertainment industry.
Her career choice also prohibited her former employer, WWE from ever acknowledging her in a public forum. Despite being an adult film actress, many of Chyna’s pro wrestling fans have clamored that she be inducted into the Hall of Fame for her accomplishments. WWE COO Triple H stated during his podcast appearance with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin that he thought Chyna should be in the Hall of Fame but eluded to her career outside of wrestling making an induction unlikely.
Chyna subsequently appeared on former WWE, WCW and TNA creative writer Vince Russo’s podcast to discuss the comments made by her former significant other. She accused Triple H of physically abusing her during their relationship.
Triple responded to the claims, stating that they are false. Therefore, Chyna is person non grata within the WWE and will likely never work for the company ever again.
As noted by TNAInsider , Chyna has been speaking positively of IMPACT Wrestling recently on social media while also interacting with several employees from the company, including Kurt Angle.
It appears that Chyna, who has been living in Japan the past few years is looking to score a job within in wrestling once again. And with WWE far from an option, IMPACT Wrestling giving her a second chance may be her only hope.
